Over the last 23 or so years I’ve done at least hundreds if not thousands of PATHs… sometimes I think oh it couldn’t be that many but then I remember times when I did a few PATHs a day for a few days and think, well, maybe… And, still, there’s always something to learn. In one of the small community based research projects we are working on, thanks to a grant from the Taos Institute, we are following social constructionist research principles – we are working in “future forming” ways with a small church congregation. We’ve had a great community … Continue reading PATH experiments…
I had a great time yesterday at the Vancouver book launch of the new anthology, Drawn Together Through Visual Practice, edited by Brandy Agerbeck, Kelvy Bird, Sam Bradd and Jennifer Shepherd. You can download my chapter below. I’m really pleased with it – these were great anthologists and editors to work with and I’d jump at a chance to be part of something like this again with the same folks (whereas most of these publishing experiences don’t end with me wanting to repeat the experience!). Stina Brown also wrote a great chapter and was MC for the event (check … Continue reading Download My Chapter from Drawn Together in Visual Practice

A lot of the work we do has to do with person centred planning – people get us to come in and help them figure out where they are in their lives, and where they’d like to go. We love anything that works for the person, but one of our favourite methods is PATH because it incorporates everything that’s really good about planning, and also is an opportunity for people to share their dreams with friends and families. Here’s part of a video from the Inclusion B.C. “On My Way” site, done by Karla Verschoor. Continue reading person centred planning part one – video
“If you let people break your spirit and detour you from your path, then you have not been true to yourself or those you’re here to touch, those who believe in you.” Allison DuBois “The path is the goal.” ― Mahatma Gandhi. Just back from a camping trip where I spent a lot of time walking and thinking about the idea of a path and how significant this is as a metaphor for all of us, as we move from one state to another, from one focus to another… and then Gary put up this lovely quote, so I felt … Continue reading the paths we’re on…
