I thought I’d put a link here to this excellent overview of visualization methods and rationale – partly to not lose track of it and partly to share it.
I’ve just been reading through some articles submitted to a journal I am doing some work with as a reviewer, and kept thinking, “Wow, if you’d mapped this article out a little you’d have clearly seen that these two parts over here have nothing to do with the theme and are coming out of left field.” I’ve been working with a couple of graduate students helping them map out theses and have talked to some thesis advisors who are using graphic recording or graphic facilitation to support their students through – as this article says, how to “interpret the huge amounts of data.”
