I just found these photos from a workshop that Susan and I did for a self advocate conference in Victoria.   It’s the first and only time (so far) that, as a facilitator/presenter, I’ve worked with a graphic recorder.  In this case Lisa Arora from Get The Picture – she was great!  I think that many of these pictures were taken by our friend Sheenagh Morrison.   The ones that are more poster sized were by self advocates as we got them drawing and thinking about the ways in which they make friends and contribute to their communities.   As much as a presentation on some of our research, it was an exploration (these are my favourite kinds of events).   Many of their ideas made it into a great little workbook we were commissioned to do for Community Living B.C., which is currently being turned into an animated film short (my little guys, walking around, making friends – how cool is that!?).
